Who is Baha’u’llah? |
|
All of the world’s major religions, and even Native American prophecies, foretell the coming of a Promised One who will establish the unity of mankind and the Kingdom of God on Earth. Baha’is believe that these prophesies were fulfilled in the life and teachings of Baha’u’llah, the founder of the Baha’i Faith.
In 1863, Baha’u’llah announced that He was God’s Messenger for this age. He was born in 1817 to a prominent family in Persia, where His father was a minister in the court of the Shah. His name was Mirza Husayn Ali, but he identified himself with the title Baha'u'llah, which means “The Glory of God.”
“The All-Knowing Physician hath His finger on the pulse of mankind. He perceiveth the disease, and prescribeth, in His unerring wisdom, the remedy. Every age hath its own problem, and every soul its particular aspiration. The remedy the world needeth in its present-day afflictions can never be the same as that which a subsequent age may require. Be anxiously concerned with the needs of the age ye live in, and center your deliberations on its exigencies and requirements. “ |
